Tabatha’s Salon Takeover is my guilty pleasure. I love the show so much that I have declared Tuesdays as TSTT (Tabatha’s Salon Takeover Tuesday). Then I got to thinking about marketing strategies, promoting salons and just how unreal REALITY TV is.
Ok seriously if someone were to walk in the spa that I call home and tell the Glam Squad that they canceled our appointments for a week. I can guarantee it would not go over well. Think about it, I’ve seen technician’s have a break down over a no-show or a last minute cancellation, and you come in and cancel their entire book for a week and live. I am thinking NOT!
On the show Tabatha’s Salon teams often hit the overly populated streets of some sunshiny state and start handing out flyers (can you say eco-friendly boys and girls) to passers by and people smile at them and take the flyers. It gets better, the poor unsuspecting souls agree to come to a grand reopening of the salon. With stylists they’ve never met. I am thinking NOT, again!
I am just saying, Life doesn’t really work that way. TST should come with a “don’t try this in real life” disclaimer, results are not typical.
